Aloha! Tonight we had two tours go out and both were able to view lava safely. There was a lot of activity and lava was everywhere. The leading edge of the lava flow is still approximately 0.8mi – 0.7mi away from the ocean. The finger of lava coming down the Pali is approximately 3/4 of the way down the hill. This flow is very active and fairly wide. The tilt meter which can be found on the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory website http://www.hvo.wr.usgs.gov . The weather tonight was really cooperative with clear skies and stars out in full. Till the next post, Aloha!
