June 20, 2012 Lava Update

Aloha friends! I hope everyone had a beautiful day. Sprinkles of rain had covered the whole island of Hawaii except the district of Kalapana. Both 4pm and the 5pm tours had view LAVA safely. Many surface breakouts could bee seen on the coastal plains and the Pulama Pali. The eastern Lobe of the Pulama Pali flow had move significantly in the past day. It had moved more than half way down the mountain. Both of our tours have gone to the base of the Pali and ha witness some beautiful breakouts. Due to steady inflation at the summit of Kilauea we are expecting to have Lava activity to be very high. The tilt meter had shown some incredible inflation today. Could be rain induced or just a lot of Lava returning to Pu’u O’o crater. Tomorrow will be very interesting. Well stay tune for tomorrows update. Aloha and A Hui Hou.
