Aloha! We are conducting tours again and tonight’s group was able to safely get up close to some nice surface flows. There is a new flow further west of the eastern lobe that came down between the middle Kipuka and eastern Kipuka of the Royal Gardens subdivision. This flow was very active with multiple breakouts that were visible. A bright glow could be seen from the Kalapana Lava Viewing area late last night, so we knew that the flow had again opened up on the coastal plains. Also visible were some nice rivers of lava coming down the Pali. The eastern lobe seems to have stopped, but maybe with this inflation it could open up again. Until tomorrow, Aloha!
