Aloha! Activity is very good and lots of lava was seen. There were multiple breakouts that our groups were able to safely approach and view. The eastern lobe has moved a little eastward and towards the ocean. The leading edge is now approximately 1/3 of a mile away from the base of the Kipuka. Up on the Pali the eastern flow that came between the middle Kipuka and the eastern Kipuka has reactivated up high on Pulama Pali. This flow can be seen coming down from the Kalapana Lava Viewing Area. There is still an ongoing DI inflation event and the amount of activity that is seen can be credited to this. Until next post, Aloha!
