Aloha everyone! Inflation had started Monday night and threw out Tuesday. Late Tuesday night another inflation had occurred and the Lava lake in Halemaumau crater rose. Also at Pu’u O’o crater activity had spurred up. Alot of activity¬† could be seen on both of our tours tonight. Awesome show again TUTU Pele had in store for us. Lava had advance¬† approximately 1/4 of a mile from the Royal Gardens Pali(hillside). Also we could see nice rivers of Lava cascading down the Royal Gardens Pali. Also there was an eastern lobe on the Pali that had advance down the hill since Monday’s tour. The flows on the coastal plains were very active. There were two lobes on the coastal plains. The first one, which is approximately 2.9 miles from start of the walk to the Lava, is the most eastern lobe. Then there is a western lobe which is just about a 1/2 of a mile further. Both lobes is very active at this time. There is no ocean entry at this time. Lava is about 1.2 miles away from the ocean. At the Kalapana Lava viewing area you could see some nice flows from a distance.Mahalo and stay tune for more updates.
