September 16,2012 Lava Tour Update

Aloha everyone! Awesome lava flows could be seen again. Still the Lava flows were approximately 4 miles away. But moving steady down the Royal Gardens  Hill side. Nice surface breakouts could be seen all over the place. The hike was pretty long. It took us just around 2 hours and 15 minutes each way. It is a extreme hike. But the rewards are just incredible. The views of the Lava and the landscape from 1500 feet elevation was just awesome. The whole took around 6 hours round trip. The tilt meter had switched to DI inflation at just around 3pm Sunday afternoon. An hour after the summit inflation , Pu’u O’o started to inflate. Activity will get better after this inflation on the flow field. Our next tour would be Tuesday Morning at 7am. If you want to join just give us a call to reserve a spot. Aloha!
