October 19, 2012 Tour

Aloha! Our tours were great last night. There was a lot of lava activity with many surface breakouts that we were able to safely get up to. At the bottom of the Kipuka there were fires that could be seen burning the already decimated Kipuka. Up on the Pali, not much could be seen once night fell. The leading edge of the flow has advanced slightly, but is still approximately 1 mile away from the ocean. At the summit the lava lake has reached an all time high. At Pu’u O’o, the lava in the collapse pit over flowed last night and early this morning. Overall lava activity is good so book your tour now. Aloha
