Aloha everyone again! Still we have steady inflation at the summit of Kilauea and Pu’u O’o crater. Steady inflation has been producing some incredible flows on the coastal plains. This activity has never occurred for over 4 years since the huge eruption in 2008. Lava at Halemaumau crater has been rising almost to the rim o9f the crater. Just about 30 meters below the rim of the crater. At Pu’u O”o, the Lava lake had been over flowing on to the crater and started to spread out on the crater flow which we could see the bright glow from the coastal plains around 6 miles away. This events have spur up some concern for a nice size eruption. Nothing dangerous in our area though. Just awesome viewing.
Three tours made it’s way out on Monday. All three were able to get up to some huge breakouts. Awesome rivers of Lava and breakouts everywhere. Everyone on the tour just had a blast. The walking time is getting a little shorter. Last night it took our tours just around 1 hour and 20 minutes each way which resulting in longer viewing time. All tours last night were at the flows for over the minimum time. Book a tour now while the Lava is hot. ALOHA!
