October 25,2012 Lava Tour Update

Aloha everyone! On Wednesday, We have cancelled our tours due to heavy rain in our area. Thursday was totally the opposite. Such a beautiful night with no clouds out and a bright moon reflecting off the silver Lava at night. Inflation has still remain high. Due to steady inflation at the summit at Kilauea and Pu’u O’o crater, The lava activity on the coastal plains has remain at a high rate.Lava on the coastal plains have move significantly towards the east and also seaward. By our GPS readings of the leading edge, The flows closest to the ocean is approximately .87 miles away. Very slow advancement has cause a lot of pressure towards the base of the Pali.

Well as for our tours we had 4 tours Thursday night. All four were able to see some awesome flows on the coastal plains. 3 distinct flows were very active with many little fingers heading towards the ocean. What a show our guests had. Little rivers of Lava was everywhere. Those tours was treated with awesome flows and awesome weather. The moon and the stars were awesome. Hopefully we  see you out there with us. Book a tour now before the Lava gets cold. ALOHA!
