November 1,2012 Lava Tour Update

Aloha everyone! Steady inflation has still increased Lava flows on the coastal plains. Lava flows on the coastal plains have intensify today. Inflation at both the summit of Kilauea, at Halemaumau crater and Pu’u O’o crater, had occurred for the third straight. Slow but steady inflation rather. Lava had just reached the inner ledge in Halemaumau crater this evening(Thursday night). At Pu’u O’o crater, the north eastern pit looked very active. Glow still could be seen from the north eastern pit from the coastal plains.

It is clear that inflation is has played a role in the activity. We had 2 tours this evening(Thursday Night). First tour was lead by Primo and second tour was lead by Kahe. They both were able to get up to some impressive flows. They have also reported that the flows were wide spread through out the coastal plains and move seaward very slow. They have also reported that breakouts were everywhere and intensifying. Book a tour now while the LAVA is flowing. ALOHA!
