December 4, 2012 Tour

Aloha Kakou! The ocean entry is still active and going well along with surface flows above the entry point. Our groups were able to view multiple surface flows near the ocean entry and were able to get up close safely. There were many fingers of lava that were entering the ocean, making for a spectacular show. The weather was cooperative even with the southerly winds. The Tilt meter is currently recording an ongoing inflation at the summit as well as Pu’u O’o. The ongoing inflation can be credited with the high level of activity. Very beautiful flows. Till next time, Aloha!
