Christmas Day Guided Lava Tour

Aloha folks! Over a week of slow and steady inflation, finally we are experiencing a deflation episode. Deflation had occurred at just around 10p.m last night. The Lava lake at the summit had dropped below the inner ledge. Also at Pu’u O’o crater, the same occurrence is happening in the crater. The activity at both craters are still active at this time.

As for the tours and the activity on the coastal plans and the Royal Gardens Pali, those area’s were very active last night. The Pali flows, which is approximately 4 miles away was still very active and could be seen from the county viewing area. Nice rivers of Lava making it’s way to the coastal plains. Those flows were very visible. As for the coastal plains, lava flows were also very active at this time. Lava could be seen flowing in many areas of the coastal plains. Our guests were very happy last night. There is NO OCEAN ENTRY at this time. Lava flows are approximately 150yards away from the ocean. Just  about 2 days ago lava flows were about 30 yards away but due to deflation flows have not advanced. Mahalo everyone and book a tour soon while the LAVA is flowing. Aloha!
