Aloha Folks! The activity at the base of the abandoned Royal Gardens subdivision has continued, but at a slower pace from the previous night. This has taken some of the pressure from the surface flows near the ocean entry. Although no flowing lava was seen, we did see lava under the surface through cracks in the previous night’s surface flow. The ocean entry however, was still active and put on a great show. Littoral explosions were viewed at the second main entry point and chunks of lava were seen flying in the air. As night fell these chunks were not black, but began to take on a red glow and wonderful to see at night. Also, the lava bench has collapsed even further and will have to be built up again. Although there were no surface flows in our vicinity everyone still a great time, Aloha!
