Aloha everyone! Activity has been picking up due to increase of activity at the summit. Inflation had occurred at both summits of Kilauea. Halemaumau crater had recorded inflation and also at Pu’u O’o crater. These recordings could be viewed on the Hawaiian Volcanoes Observatory website. This means more lava entering the use system at this time.
Last night our guests were happy. Lava continued to enter the ocean at this time. Our guides have reported that the ocean entry was elevated last night. The ocean entry was more active then the past days. As for surface flows, our first group led by Andrew went 2 miles above the ocean entry to a surface flow which had been flowing for a few days. (Ocean entry and Surface flows) Because it was so far from each other, the lava viewing was either or. Our guests were so happy for the turnout. Come and join us now while the lava is flowing. Aloha!
