June 21,2013 Guided Lava Hike Adventure

Aloha gang! Lava activity has been active but started to slow just a tad because of upper tube breakouts. Surface flows were active but very slow. Small breakouts here and there but very slow. Our guests were happy for what they had witnessed that night. The ocean entry has been the winner. Lava continued to flow in to the ocean at this time. The most eastern entry point was the most active. Cascading rivers of lava and insane explosions was seen that night. All of our guests was happy and satisfied after the tour. The reason why for minimal flows on the coastal plains is because of the upper tube system breakouts. The were a huge breakout on the royal gardens subdivision where the existing tube system is at this time. This breakout could have been the reason why the activity near the ocean entry had slowed down. Come and join soon while the earth is still flowing. Mahalo!

June 20,2013 Guided Lava adventure

Aloha again! The ocean entry had stole the show. Surface flows continued to be active just above the ocean entry. Small rivers of Lava continued to flow east and stared to spread through the ocean entry viewing area. Our guests were just happy to see surface flows just about 2 meters from their feet. As for the ocean entry, huge lava bench areas fell into the ocean with huge explosions with firing red rock shooting about 3 to 4 meters Into the air. Massive rivers of Lava  flowed into the ocean. Majority of the lava bench had fallen into ocean that night. It was a pretty awesome night. Come and join us. Mahalo!

June 19,2013 Guided Lava tour Hike

Aloha everyone! Lava had continued to be very active on the coastal plains. Some minor breakouts had opened up just above the Royal Gardens Subdivision and created some surface flows. There were beautiful surface activity right above the ocean entry which made surface flow viewing spectacular. The surface flows were just about 50 yards away from the ocean entry lookout. This made viewing for both areas easy and accessible. Surface activity has been an off and on type of deal. Some days there are surface breakouts and some days there wasn’t any. As for the ocean entry, lava had continued to flow vigorously in to the ocean. The eastern entry point was the most active one. For our tours it was easy to view. Come and join us. Aloha!

June 18, 2013 Guided Lava Hike

Aloha! We had great activity at both the ocean entry and surface flows. The newly formed bench had collapsed late Monday night or some time Tuesday. The farthest visible ocean entry was very active as lava was being flown into the air by the littoral explosions. The surface flows were very active and small rivers of lava were flowing towards the Cliffside. These flows we safely approached and were able to get within a few feet. These new surface flows have covered the area we have been viewing the ocean entry from and creating new ocean entry points. All in all it was an awesome night, Aloha!

June 17, 2013 Guided Lava Adventure

Aloha everyone! What a beautiful Monday afternoon it was. Little sprinkles of rain but turned out to be a magical night. The lava activity in our area was just incredible. Surface flows were everywhere and easily approachable. All over guests were treated to many surface flows in the area. Surface flows have moved significantly in the past day. These surface flows had covered over 100 yards of area in the past 24 hours which was really bizarre. All of our guests were happy to see what they have seen on our tour. As for the ocean entry, Lava continued to flow into the ocean. The far eastern ocean entry was the most active one. But the ocean entry wasn’t as active as the days before. This could be  because of the massive surface activity happening right now. Come and join us because the Lava is hot. MAHALO!

Lava Hike-June 16, 2013-Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all Dads out there! Tonight was a great night. The ocean entry was great and so was the surface flow. Unlike last night, tonight there were surface flows that we safely approached. This flow broke out from a tumulus along the lava tube. This flow split in two as it flowed down the side of the tumulus. What a welcome sight. Since we were able to get close to this surface flow, we could feel the heat and hear the sound of molten rock making it’s way across already hardened lava. this flow got bigger as time passed, but may have already stalled out since we left. One thing is for sure and that is the flows are constantly changing and never the same. Have a great night, Aloha!

June 15, 2013 Guided Lava Adventure

Aloha Folks! The ocean entry was really active and there were many entry points. Every day the lava bench continually grows as lava continues to travel from Pu’u O’o and eventually flows into the ocean. The lava is flowing underground in the lava tube system, which insulates the magma until it breaks out and becomes lava. The farthest visible ocean entry point was where the littoral explosions were happening. Unfortunately there were no surface flows that were visible last night. We did however see the red in cracks from recent flows. There was also a surface flow visible high up on the Pali as we were on our way home. Still good activity to be seen, Aloha!

Guided Lava Tour-June 14, 2013

Aloha! Once again we saw activity at both the ocean entry and surface flows. The surface flows slightly decreased from the previous nights. A breakout happened at the cliff edge and lava was flowing down the side of the cliff. What a wondrous sight! The lava bench is getting bigger each day as lava continues to flow into the ocean. Our groups were able to safely approach the surface flow. Although the surface flows slowed down we were still able to find some. Another beautiful sunset was added into the mix, which made for an awesome night, Aloha!

June 13, 2013 Guided Lava Hike Excursion

Aloha gang! Lava flows were highly active last night. The surface flows was just amazing And very active. The surface flows were centered right above the ocean entry. Beautiful rivers of Lava continued to pour over the cliffs edge and flowed onto the Lava bench located below the existing cliffs edge. Multiple rivers of lava could be seen cascading over the cliffs edge. The surface flows was easy and safe to view up close and personal. We could stand just feet away from huge rivers of Lava. As for the ocean entry, there were three distinct entry points on the most eastern branch of the lava low. All three entry points were just breath taking. It was so awesome, all of ours stayed longer theto the average time because how awesome it was. Come and join us as soon as possible. Lava activity is very high. Aloha and have a great day.

June 12, 2013 Guided Lava Tour Adventure

Aloha everyone! Our guided lava tour adventure was amazing last night. The ocean entry was incredible last night. Two entry points on the most eastern branch were visible. Both entry points continue to very active. Cascading rivers of lava and lava explosions continue to put on a show for our guests. The ocean entry has been entering the ocean for just about 6 months. We also were able to view some incredible surface flows near the ocean entry. These surface flows were wide spread with majority of the flows were on the eastern part of the flow Field. At the end of the night all of our guests were happy because the outcome. Come and join us as soon as possible while the lava is hot. Aloha!
