Guided hike and weather update

Aloha Kākou!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope that everyone stayed safe during this past weekend. As some of you may already know we had some bad weather this past few days. Heavy rains, thunder and lightning, and flash flooding. Due to weather conditions we had to cancel our Lava Hike Tours yesterday for safety and comfort purposes. But today we are back, and will be conducting our Guided Lava Hikes.

At the summit there is inflation, and lots of activity. You can enjoy a video one of ‘OG’ Guides did in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, at the Halema’uma’u Crater. Our guide, Andrew talks about the inflation and activity at the crater. To view this video you can go onto our Facebook page or Instagram (kalapanaculturaltours).

Since our Guided Lava Tours were canceled yesterday, let’s talk about our Guided Hike on Saturday! We had a smaller group go out with us, which makes for an in-depth Guided Tour. Our tour Guide Herbie can definitely give detailed stories of the area, just ask him! Herbie, along with his group, was able to find surface flow at the Pulama Pali. This extreme Guided Hiking Tour is still taking about 6 – 8 hours roundtrip. The weather for Saturday was a bit overcast, and the tours did receive a light drizzle, but other than that the Guided Tour went great.

Mahalo! Have a great day!
